Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions for Electronics Used in Drag Racing

Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions

1. Warranty Coverage

HOBBYWING offers a limited warranty on its products, ensuring that they are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

  • Due to the specialized nature and high-performance requirements of drag racing, any electronic speed control (ESC) once installed and used are no longer covered under warranty terms and conditions.
  • If your product is damaged due to racing and you would like us to perform a damage assessment inspection, you are eligible to receive this inspection at no cost within the warranty period. A service fee may apply if the inspection is requested outside of the warranty period.

2. Warranty Period

The warranty period varies by product and is specified on the product packaging or in the user manual. For HOBBYWING drag racing products, the warranty period is 90 days from the date of purchase.

3. Warranty Conditions

To qualify for warranty service, the following conditions must be met:

  • The warranty must be claimed within the specified warranty period.
  • Proof of purchase, such as a receipt or invoice, must be provided.
  • The product must not have been soldered, altered, modified, or repaired by unauthorized personnel.

4. Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage due to improper installation, operation, or maintenance.
  • Damage resulting from drag racing, bench testing,  misuse, abuse, accidents, or unauthorized modifications.
  • Wear and tear of consumable parts, including but not limited to bearings and brushes.
  • Damage caused by the use of non-HOBBYWING components or accessories.
  • Products not purchased from an authorized HOBBYWING dealer or distributor.

5. Warranty Claim Process

To make a warranty claim, follow these steps:

  1. Contact HOBBYWING customer service or your authorized dealer to report the issue and request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
  2. Provide proof of purchase and a detailed description of the problem.
  3. Ship the product to the designated service center, including the RMA number and proof of purchase. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the warranty claim is approved.

6. Warranty Remedies

If a product is found to be defective under warranty, HOBBYWING will, at its discretion:

  • Repair the product using new or refurbished parts.
  • Replace the product with a new or refurbished unit of equal or greater value.

7. Limitation of Liability

HOBBYWING’s liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective products. HOBBYWING is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the product.

8. Warranty Extension

Any repair or replacement made under this warranty does not extend the original warranty period. The warranty on repaired or replaced products is limited to the remaining term of the original warranty.

9. Legal Rights

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary by jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on the duration of implied warranties or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
